My entire life I've surrounded myself with books on seemingly opposite sides of the scale: Interior Design & Spirituality. Today I see the connection. So often our feelings of peace VS distress are attached to external events. The results are a nauseating rollercoaster of emotions. I am striving diligently to reach a place of peace no matter what happens.
I move countries and don't know the language? Peace. I go from being a "top student" to being a "special needs" student? Peace. I experience divorce? Peace. I experience a concussion as a result of domestic violence? Peace. I experience mental illness? Peace. I experience two emergency home evacuations? Peace. I experience the sudden death of my father? Peace. Peace. Peace. Peace. I am convinced that the true meaning of "Interior Design" is turning our attention within. In my experience, this is the only environment we have any real, lasting control over. Painting, meditation, prayer, mantra, music and movement are a few of the tools I use to "redecorate" my inner state. It is my sincere hope that my message inspires you to feel encouraged and empowered to take ownership and live your best life. Comments are closed.

This blog was created to share my belief that the art-making process is a catalyst for transformation and personal empowerment. I am living proof.
