My new series of paintings is inspired by rust, peeling paint, abandoned buildings, ripped jeans, torn newspaper, and many surfaces found in nature. I am fascinated by creating paintings that look like they have been left outside to be exposed to the elements and the passing of time.
We all have an internal compass. Following that compass isn't always easy, but it will always take us exactly where we need to be. My unique contribution is creating paintings I am passionate about, and teaching others how art making can be a vehicle for empowerment. Shop the Collection
Writing my own artist biography has always been incredibly challenging for me. How do I write objectively so that I account for my achievements without sounding like a conceited jerk? How do I summarize the past 10 years without writing a long-winded novel?
My new artist biography marks the beginning of a new chapter. I thank my lucky stars for my brother Lucas, who helped me put into words a narrative far better than I could have done myself.
