NEW WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT - ZOOM !! 2 Days ago I watched a virtual gallery tour and I started bawling. Literally bawling. This reaction was extremely surprising, even to me! What's wrong with me? I thought. All I can say is that I felt a huge, overwhelming sense of loss. Loss for the "good old days" of being able to physically go to an art gallery and experience the artwork in person. One of my favorite painting installations of all time. This rockstar client purchased 6 of my original paintings for their stunning home in Kamas, Utah. By using loads of texture, sophisticated colors, and "bringing the outside in" with paintings made with locally sourced salt, sand and sawdust, these painting add, not compete with the breathtaking views of the vicinity. Truly, this is a home made a sanctuary. A huge thanks to Hudson Home Design for making this a reality, and for Kate Osborne Photography for the lovely installation shots. If you've taken one of my Fearless Abstract Painting workshops, you know it's a lot of information to digest. Quite often there is so much "unlearning" to do because these concepts and techniques are so unorthodox. With this in mind, I've compiled this quick reference guide to some of my most popular techniques for you to use. Enjoy! And as always, please feel free to contact me with any questions & suggestions. Your partner in FearLESS art-making, Samantha JOIN ME IN COSTA RICA !! I am pleased to announce that we are so SO close to releasing my upcoming FEARLESS ABSTRACT PAINTING RETREAT on November 14 - 19, 2021 at Imiloa Institute. The predominant theme in my life continues to be how to overcome fear as a means to experience absolute freedom. Clean lines and an uncluttered interior. Open layouts and tall ceilings. The "Mountain Modern" style is about sweeping views and a totally relaxing vibe. Inspired by Mother Nature, these paint colors promise to pair well, but not compete, with the beauty outside. Think texture over color. Warm and livable without being bland and beige. Cool, sophisticated and earthy. Deep neutrals and quiet tints. An inner sanctum. Home as a refuge and a sanctuary. Original acrylic & mixed media contemporary abstract painting on canvas. The paintings in this series were made using: iron-rich Utah dirt, salt from The Great Salt Lake, metallic powders, plaster, repurposed paint, and local newspapers. A New Series of Paintings: Rooted in Zen Buddhist philosophy, inspired by the inexorable passage of time. COMMISSION PAINTING SUCCESS! The moments before a client arrives at the studio to see their commissioned paintings for the first time are always filled with excitement. I am please to announce that the paintings are a PERFECT (her words, not mine) fit for their new Park City home. A third painting was also commissioned for above the master bed. When we first met, the client described my paintings as "zeny". I love that! I am thrilled to be the medium through which a client's creative vision can be expressed, and to contribute to some of the most beautiful and luxurious homes is Park City.
