 Come with me to the water's edge. Whether it's the expansive ocean, the gentle rain, or a tranquil pool, as I immerse my canvases in these surroundings, I feel them infused with the very essence of the place itself.
But it's not just about the art. Our own selves, our very beings, are like canvases waiting to be painted upon by the world around us. For those of us who have known the ache of searching for belonging and home, there is a profound truth in remaining open and adaptable. It is this openness that allows us to assimilate into new environments, to truly become a part of the fabric of the world around us. So I ask you: How do you belong to where you are? How do you allow yourself to be painted by the colors of your surroundings, to be shaped by the rhythms of the world?  Incorporating iron-rich Utah dirt into my artistic endeavors holds profound meaning for me. This organic material not only enriches my works but also imbues them with a sense of sacredness, connecting them to the land from which they originate. As I transform my studio into a blank canvas, the red earth becomes more than just a medium—it becomes a conduit for my expression, a reflection of my connection to the earth and its essence.

 Recently, I've been enjoying painting diptychs! Originating from the Greek word 'ptykhos' meaning 'to bend,' a diptych comprises two panels. These panels can either unite to create a single scene or stand alone, connected through visual coherence. It's a fascinating exploration of dual perspectives.
