 Living in harmony with the flow of nature and the spontaneous unfolding of events, rather than striving against it. The Tao Te Ching teaches that by aligning oneself with the Way, individuals can attain balance, simplicity, and inner peace. It encourages letting go of ego-driven desires and embracing a state of wu-wei, or effortless action, where one acts in accordance with the natural rhythm of life. Ultimately, the Way is seen as a profound source of wisdom and guidance for navigating existence and achieving spiritual enlightenment.
The Way, mixed media on canvas, 22 x 28 in.  Painting is my guiding force, the vehicle through which I make sense of my life's experiences. So, when I made the move to the enchanting Big Island of Hawaii in 2016, it didn't take me long to gather the necessary supplies and tools to embark on my artistic journey. Living two hours away from the nearest art store and with mail delivery not being an option, I turned to a ubiquitous establishment that can be found almost anywhere: my local hardware store.
With an unconventional mix of art supplies and a treasure trove of natural wonders surrounding me, such as dirt, sand, and palm fronds, I embarked on a creative adventure. This unique blend enabled me to accomplish what painting has always done for me: capturing the essence of a place and cultivating a profound sense of belonging.  In 2016, I embarked on a journey to Salt Lake City, Utah, with the intention of spending the summer with my parents and enrolling in yoga teacher training. Little did I know that this trip would take an unexpected turn that would alter the course of my life.

 I'm delighted to share the exciting news that one of my paintings has been selected to be exhibited at The UVU Museum of Art's extraordinary initiative, "The Art of Belonging." This remarkable exhibition delves into the profound themes of community and culture, exploring the very essence of belonging.
"The Art of Belonging" is a collaboration between The Museum of Art, visionary artist and curator Jorge Rojas, and Artes de México en Utah, led by the inspiring cultural advocate Fanny Guadalupe Blauer. While the opening event celebrating BIPOC (Black/Indigenous/Person of Color) culture on May 13 was a resounding success, the exhibition will continue to enchant visitors until September 16. This extended period offers ample time for you to immerse yourself in the captivating artworks and thought-provoking concepts presented. I feel truly honored to have my artwork showcased alongside such diverse and inspiring creations. It is an incredible opportunity to be part of this event, and I encourage you to join me on this artistic journey.
