The importance of the nature for both our personal wellbeing and global prosperity has never been clearer. By infusing the environment into my paintings; namely salt, soil and bark, I invite the viewer to explore themes of home, belonging and preservation. We needed this. I needed this. Painting can be surprising. It has the tendency to generate a lot of "movement" inside of us. It has the capacity to create flow where there was none. This can feel uncomfortable, and at times and it can generate tears. But growth is good if we are going to stretch into becoming the best versions of ourselves. Fear begets fear. Power begets power. When we confront and work through our fears, we increase in self confidence, compassion and understating for ourselves and for each other. |
