2024 Naturalization
During the year I became an American citizen, I crafted sculptural paintings infused with organic materials gathered from the places I discovered. My creative journey is guided by the wisdom of Ram Das, Joseph Campbell, and Alan Watts. Painting serves as my compass for meditation and divine connection. Citizenship, to me, is like clothing - something worn but not defining. With three citizenships in my life, this realization resonates deeply.
My work reflects a spiritual and cultural journey through my citizenships. Inspired by naturalization experiences, my art incorporates symbolism from mandalas, the moon, ethereal vistas, butterflies, gold, prayer beads, chakras, and Kintsugi. These themes embody spiritual exploration, transformation, and a connection to the divine, expressing my understanding of identity and the human experience.
