2016 Love Is The Balm
Love Is The Balm is a series of paintings as diverse as the environments in which they were created. From the soft, ethereal greys and taupes of British Columbia to the vibrant energy of Calgary, and the expansive beauty of the Alberta prairies, each piece reflects the natural and cultural contrasts of Salt Lake City, Utah, as well as the striking beauty of Hawaii, a place I have only just begun to explore.
This year has been one of travel and transformation—a realization that this is exactly where I am meant to be. There is nowhere to get to; I have already arrived.
The paintings in this series are crafted with locally sourced materials, including earth, sand, crushed bone, organic pigments, and metallic powders, inviting viewers to connect with the essence of each unique place.
