2013 Snow Angels
This series of paintings emerged after a retreat to West Yellowstone, Montana. In many ways, it captures the sensation of living inside a snow globe, surrounded by a flurry of stark white snow—cold, brilliant, and transformative.
Through this work, I focus on editing the noise and stripping away the superfluous to turn inward. I engage in mark-making on the canvas using my body, documenting a moving meditation that reflects my inner landscape. This process allows me to separate light from darkness, embodying the feelings of happiness, spontaneity, aliveness, and freedom. Each piece serves as a testament to the joy and clarity that can arise from introspection and connection with nature.
