2013 Snow Angels

A series of paintings made after a retreat to West Yellowstone, Montana. This is what it must feel like to live inside a snow globe: A flurry of snow all around you - stark white, cold and brilliant. Editing the noise and the superfluous to turn inward. Mark-making on the canvas using my body. Using the canvas to document a moving mediation. Separating the light from the darkness. Happy, spontaneous, alive and free.
