2013 After Paris
My love affair with Paris began long before we actually met, and the experience lived up to every expectation while revealing even more. The colors of Paris resonate deeply with me: gold, warm grays, Payne's gray, sepia, parchment, rose, Van Dyke brown, and titanium white.
The essence of the city feels silent, self-reflective, introverted, and peaceful, embodying a bleeding of white, gold, and silver. It captures the chill before the rainfall and the warmth of the sun breaking through the clouds. This series reflects themes of love and longing—both fulfilled and unrequited—expressing a softness that lingers in the heart. Through my paintings, I invite viewers to experience the profound emotional landscape of Paris, a city that continues to inspire and transform.
