Thank you for sharing your laughter, sadness, tears, stories, memories, hopes, dreams, fears, successes, suggestions, frustrations, accomplishments, supplies, music and dance moves with me during this year's Summer Series. As I said to Series coordinator when she asked me to come back next summer: "It will be my pleasure. I will keep coming back as long as people want to take my classes."
It's one thing to do the work. It's an entirely different thing to put your painting up for display and public consumption. I am so proud of how fantastic my students did tonight. They worked so hard. Tonight we had a chance to celebrate our achievements.

I still can't believe this is for real. Who would have thought that a painting technique I created in my parent's basement that includes no brushes, no easels, no palettes, no colour wheel and no preconceived ideas would have me teaching amongst a roster of internationally acclaimed instructors? WOW. If you don't take that first step towards making your dreams a reality, how will you ever know what you're capable of?
What is the difference between the Fearless Boot Camp in August & the Acrylic Fusion Workshop in September?
I've always chosen not to have a painting in front of my classroom for my students to copy for one simple reason: I am much more interested in seeing what you can create rather than how well you can copy. It takes guts, I know. But I believe in you. I believe in the power of uninhibited creativity. I believe the process evolves into ideas.
Am I spending a small fortune, subjecting myself to insufferable heat, bad fashion, greasy foods and crowds for nothing? Will my nieces and nephews remember? Will they even care? Here are my 9 favorite Calgary Stampede happenings of 2015:
Eight years ago I walked out of my corporate job with only $700 in my bank account. I had no business plan, no art degree or connections. I didn't even have a car or a home of my own. Despite all of that, it was still the best decision I ever made. Sometimes our dreams don't make any sense. That doesn't mean they aren't right.
This blog was created to share my belief that the art-making process is a catalyst for transformation and
I am living proof.
