Why is it important to paint your truth?

Short answer? Because it’s sustainable. It’s the only thing that will give you adequate amounts of creative fuel, so that you can keep doing what you are doing.

  • Without getting stuck
  • Without having to ask for permission
  • Without having to copy
  • Without feeling like you’ve run out of ideas

Someone once asked me if I was afraid I would run out of ideas. The thought had never occurred to me. That’s like saying: "Aren’t you afraid you are going to run out of words?" How can I ever run out of words when I have a whole alphabet to call upon?

The same is true for painting. There's a huge palette of colours, textures and techniques to play with. I don't think I'll ever run of things to say on the canvas. And you don't have to either.

This blog was created to share my belief that the art-making process is a catalyst for transformation and personal empowerment. I am living proof.
