Trying something new can feel intimidating, and I deeply admire everyone who showed up with open minds and open hearts. Thank you as well to the Kimball Art Center for making this workshop possible.  A gallery partnership is a lot like a marriage. You get back what you put in.
There are many ways to navigate a relationship with a gallery, but my most honest advice is this: treat it with the same care you would a marriage. Alignment, commitment, honesty, trust, collaboration, and a little fun all matter. When the fit is right, you become stronger together. You show up fully for one another — and in return, the relationship often gives back far more than expected. Looking back on three years with Gallery MAR, I’m especially grateful for the moments that have defined this chapter:  A month filled with openings, fearless painting, and my first-ever book reading!

Fearless Abstract Painting at Gallery MAR with the Marcella Club was a resounding success! Thank you to everyone who showed up with open minds and open hearts. Painting fearlessly with bold roller strokes in such a stunning venue, surrounded by beautiful art, was truly inspiring. Grateful for every brave creator who joined us.  The years I spent in Hawaii — building an off-grid home on the Big Island, experiencing the 2018 Kīlauea eruption, and learning to live in constant change — remain some of the most formative of my life and practice.
There, I learned to collaborate with the land itself. I floated canvases in the ocean, collected volcanic ash and black sand, and watched lava reshape the landscape. The work that emerged was raw, resilient, and deeply rooted in place — lessons I still carry into every painting I make today. Hawaii taught me that true grounding often comes after the ground itself has moved. These experiences continue to inform my topographic abstractions and my belief in art as a form of alchemy and renewal.  Raw | Elegant | Poetic
A floating art gallery on Maui. Paintings suspended in the pool as a magnificent sunset unfolds. Do I keep them afloat, or do they keep me afloat? In truth, we are inexorably connected.  A beautiful evening of color, texture, and fearless creation by the ocean. So grateful for everyone who showed up and painted with an open heart.

60" x 60" | Mixed media on canvas A large-scale commission completed for a Park City collector. Layers of translucent glazes of burnished gold and silver to create a luminous surface. I love how the curated color palette of charcoal, cognac, and champagne brings warmth and depth to the piece. Grateful to Gallery MAR for facilitating this wonderful project. |
