During my yoga teacher training, there was a cue that stood out to me more than the others: "Heart Before Head''. I was fascinated! For someone who spends so much time in her head, the invitation to be guided by my heart was intriguing. I've learned that my best paintings are made when the channels of communication between my head and my heart are intrinsically connected.
“One day we will learn that the heart can never be totally right if the head is totally wrong. Only through the bringing together of head and heart-intelligence and goodness-shall man rise to a fulfillment of his true nature.” — Martin Luther King Jr.

When an artist paints in alignment with Source Consciousness, mere objects become eleaved and take on a sacred quality. A painting done in this manner becomes a protective talisman and an incantation for a richer, more abundant life.

A truly delightful afternoon (including a competitive game of Cornhole!) hanging out with our friends at Studio Moxie Architects, Park City.
When I imagine my paintings integrated into a space, a contemporary interior like this one is at the top of my list: Clean lines, subtle sophistication & the juxtaposition of textures makes each piece stand out as individual and unique.
How do you share a sacred experience without running the risk of bastardizing it?
Describing my recent experience for a commissioned painting with cremains (cremated human remains) feels a lot like trying to describe a dream. For the dreamer, the dream is ALIVE. But when the morning comes, the very act of verbalizing the dream makes it seem flatter, limited in depth and scope to the listener. It is my sincere hope that this is not the case.
This blog was created to share my belief that the art-making process is a catalyst for transformation and personal empowerment. I am living proof.
