Let them paint their hands. Let them paint their feet. What's the worst thing that could happen?
Here's the worst thing that could happen:
They get filthy, they get paint in their hair, they try to eat the paint only to find out it doesn't taste very good, they make "muddy colours", they don't cover the whole canvas, they have no sense of composition, they don't know when to stop and in the end you'll probably have to make their newly created art work "disappear".
So what? There's always the shower remember?
At the very least, you'll have created the opportunity for your little one to have a positive experience with the creative process.
Instead of teaching kids how to be creative, I suggest you to get of the way and let them teach you.
This blog was created to share my belief that the art-making process is a catalyst for transformation and
I am living proof.
