Life is good on Tuesday. My neighborhood is filled with the sounds of newly rising infills: hammers, staple guns & the saw.
Although I do not live in a newly built infill, my home too is getting a bit of a face lift. In fact, there is someone walking on the roof of my studio as we speak. It is extremely loud. It would be so easy for me to tell myself: This is annoying, I can’t paint today. But this is just one small example of the many excuses we make for ourselves not to paint. So I turn up my yoga music, take long, deep breaths, and I paint anyways. Surprisingly, the room becomes incredibly quiet when I retreat into the stillness of my mind.
