The Best Drop Cloth to Buy

11/3/2015

Artist Tip: What is the best kind of drop cloth to buy for your workstation?

The best kind of table cover to buy for your work station, is one with an absorbent top and a plastic bottom. This is the only way to contain the mess when we are working with so much water, dripping, tilting and spraying. The water and paint get absorbed by the surface layer, and the plastic bottom keeps the mess from staining your work station.

A shower curtain or a picnic table cloth might be cheaper solutions, but since they are both plastic (not absorbent), they tend to create a real mess.

Does the poly-backed drop cloth keep your work station completely stain free? This depends on how much of a mess you make. Considering my painting table is often sopping wet, I always end up with some paint and water leaking through.

I bought this product for around $8.00 USD at a Home Depot in the States. (I am loving the Spanish on everything!) The Home Depots in Canada carry a similar product.
