How to choose a rust colour palette:
I love the red-orange colour created by rust. Here is a list of the acrylic paint colours I regularly use to create a rust-like effect on my canvas and some great colour choices to go along with it:
Left to right: Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Red Oxide, Burnt Sienna (This one made it into the picture twice), Quinacridone red, Burnt Umber, Payne’s Grey, Pale Umber & Titanium White.
Another great addition to your rust color palette is Sepia. I use this colour to give my paintings an antique, aged effect. My favourite brand of Sepia is by Da Vinci Fluid Acrylics.
This blog was created to share my belief that the art making process can be a vehicle for empowerment.
I am living proof.
