How to choose a rust colour palette:

Picture
I love the red-orange colour created by rust. Here is a list of the acrylic paint colours I regularly use to create a rust-like effect on my canvas and some great colour choices to go along with it:

Left to right: Raw Sienna,
Burnt Sienna, Red Oxide, Burnt Sienna (This one made it into the picture twice), Quinacridone red, Burnt Umber, Payne’s Grey, Pale Umber & Titanium White.

Another great addition to your rust color palette is Sepia. I use this colour to give my paintings an antique, aged effect. My favourite brand of Sepia is by Da Vinci Fluid Acrylics.

These colours work so well together. I picked a few of them and then added Yellow Ochre into the mix for contrast. Thank you so much Sam!
