I have been wanting to attend this event since I first heard about it one year ago. Finally, on Saturday morning, I made my way to Haultian Park for my first ever ParkSale.
The event was beautiful. White tents, clean, organized and a cool, urban vibe was in the air made possible in part by a live dj spinning her tracks.
There was lots of art, crafts, jewelry, clothing and general art-market-type-stuff to be had.
However, I couldn't help but notice the event did not seem well attended. At least when I was there. But then again with Global Fest, Reggae Fest and Taste of Calgary all competing for attention on the same weekend, who can blame them?
This blog was created to share my belief that the art making process can be a vehicle for empowerment.
I am living proof.
