I did not teach her that.
Children are abstract painters by nature.
It's a beautiful things to watch a child paint.
No hesitation, no filters.
Just pure unadulterated creativity.
Here is one little girl I don't get to see very often. Three or four times a year if I'm lucky. She's my little niece Isabella.
She knows I'm supposed to be important but I get the feeling she doesn't really understand why. Unfortunately, I don't see her often enough to make a regular, lasting impression.
However, when we are together, I try and make up for lost time. Even if it means taking her swimming in a freezing cold pool, playing princess and cashier, dancing in the living room, watching Bubble Guppies and last but certainly not least, painting.
This blog was created to share my belief that the art making process can be a vehicle for empowerment.
I am living proof.
