As an artist, white is my favourite colour to work with. It is both simple and complex. During my recent trip to Yellowstone National Park, I was thrilled to see nature's colour combinations at work, right before my eyes. In order to convince my fearless abstract painting students that painting is a lot more fun when we give up control, I painted blindfolded (for the length of one song) during one of my classes.

Perhaps the most important characteristic an artist can posses is curiosity. Not just about art, paintings and process, but about the very world we live in. Today I visited the Natural History Museum of Utah - a wonderful place to learn about the incredible world we live in. My favourite part? The building itself.
