Everywhere I go, I am inspired by the artists who don't keep their art to themselves.
Just the way I like a piece of art to look: Old, vintage, weathered, distressed, falling apart, decrepit & absolutely glorious. This is where old casino signs find their final resting place.
Great Basin National Park, Area 51, Las Vegas, Red Rock Canyon & Meadow Hot Springs.
We're still trying to figure out if this kid was part of the exhibit.
My latest series of paintings are inspired by the time I spent traveling in the American West. The majority of the materials used to make these works were sourced within Utah, and these include: Red earth, sand, sawdust, plaster, plant seeds, and powdered earth pigments such as Black Oxide, Green, Red and Yellow Ochre. Note that due to the highly textured canvasses, paintings may have slightly different colouring than shown. Which one is your favourite?

Want to know the big secret to making painting a daily habit? Paint where you are, with what you've got. The idea that we need a designated painting studio and long, uninterrupted stretches of time in order to make work, is completely unnecessary. Trust me, I know this from personal experience.
Q. I’m registered for your Fearless Abstract Painting Workshop at MISSA in July. I was just out looking for the paint (there’s a sale this weekend) and my usual stores (Opus and Art World) aren’t carrying Liquitex Basics any more. I wondered if they are particularly good or if another student grade acrylic (Amsterdam ? Buzz? Pebeo high viscosity? Pro acrylics?) would work as well with your approach. I have lots of time to order on line if you think Liquitex Basics are best, but just wondered if the other brands might do? Also neither carries WN Galleria. Do you know another brand for this?
Q: I was looking at the MISSA 2016 classes and noticed you are teaching. I'm looking at building my website and was wondering how much of your class would cover websites, branding and writing for websites and blogs? I'm also wondering if you offer classes at any other times as I do have a bit of a conflict on the MISSA dates.
This blog was created to share my belief that the art-making process is a catalyst for transformation and
I am living proof.
