"The Still Heart of Awareness" is a sculptural exploration of healing and transformation. A subtle incision down the center symbolizes vulnerability and introspection - a quiet invitation to look deeper.
This artwork has had 9 lives! It was nearly lost when I used it to channel a broken heart. Originally repaired with red rope, it was later reassembled, revealing that true healing comes through gentleness, not forced closure. Its journey continued as a vessel for goddess empowerment, in sepia, bronze, and simmering gold. This piece captures the slow process of healing, and the belief that every wound and moment serves a purpose. It’s a personal reflection on resilience, transformation, and the understanding that everything happens for us, not to us. The Still Heart of Awareness, mixed media on canvas, 48" x 36" I am pleased to share that my large-scale sculptural piece, The Art of Liberation, has found a new home in Washington, DC. This work is particularly personal and meaningful to me.
It was created with the intention of visually expressing the act of breaking free from the bonds that can hold us back, symbolizing the pursuit of freedom. The piece was initially bound with Shibari rope and left to bake in the Utah sun. Once dried, the ropes were unbound, leaving behind indentations that reflect the process and the journey of release. My hope is that this piece will bring a sense of joy and inspiration for years to come. I also want to extend my sincere gratitude to Gallery Mar for their ongoing support and encouragement of my creative journey. Purchase Available Works https://www.gallerymar.com/artists/samantha-da-silva I am pleased to share that three of my pieces, developed during an artist residency in Santa Fé, will be featured at the new Weber Morgan Children’s Justice Center in Ogden, Utah. It’s meaningful to contribute to a space dedicated to supporting children through their healing process. I appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with Ogden Contemporary Arts on this project. Looking forward to the upcoming ribbon-cutting event.
