How ironic that I come back from Paris wanting to quit blogging altogether (Yes, I am seriously considering this) and the next day I get a request from a dear friend of mine (my mentor) to use my social media platform to spread the word about an issue we are both extremely passionate about.
Paris is quite possibly, the most beautiful city in the world. It has all of the things I love: Art, culture, history, fashion, food and the French language. And now it's even better for another reason: Fearless Abstract Painting. Making a "Top Ten" list proved to be incredibly difficult. Here are some highlights, although it does not begin to encompass the magic I experienced:
This place is so incredible I went back for a second time. This time I had company, met a cat and ate a duck.
Renting a studio outside of Paris means we get to see more of the jaw dropping country side of France. What can I say? When I think this can't get any better... it does.
Somebody pinch me. Im painting in Paris!
Anyone mind sharing any jet lag cures? I woke up this morning feeling like I had been sat on by a hippopotamus. When I finally ventured out of my hotel room, I did not intend to walk as far as I did, but I just couldn't help myself. I'm in Paris!
My second time in Paris is already miles different than my first time here, mostly because I am not alone. Having a local, French - English speaking contact allows me to explore the city in ways that would be impossible to do if I were on my own. For example, I would never have thought that a hop on - hop off tour in a double decker bus would be so fabulous.
I just had my first official breakfast in Paris. I am on cloud nine. Cloud twelve!
Tomorrow I am on route to teach a 9-day Fearless Abstract Painting Retreat in Paris! Here's what I have learned (so far) about packing for an international painting trip:
This blog was created to share my belief that the art making process can be a vehicle for empowerment.
I am living proof.
