Dear Prospective 9 - Day Fearless in Paris Retreat Student,
In order to assist in your decision, I have answered the 7 most popular questions pertaining our trip:

Planning for a 9-Day Fearless Abstract Painting Retreat in Paris has been a dream of mine for a very long time. When I visited Paris for the first time last November, I just knew that I had to make my dreams to teach there a reality.

The universe has a funny way of guiding us when we really want something doesn’t it?! During one of my painting workshops in Calgary, I met a student who introduced me to a lovely, enthusiastic woman (who currently lives in Paris) who happened to want me to teach in Paris just as much as I did. In July of this year, we began exchanging ideas on how we could make this happen.

At this point, I am confident that the retreat is a go. However, I must humbly ask for your patience as I make changes to the original proposed workshop as our ideas take on a life and movement of their own.

In order to assist in your decision, I have answered the 7 most popular questions pertaining our trip:

1. Is there still availability?

A. Yes.

2. Is the course running regardless of the attendance?

A. No. I need at least 4 people to attend the workshop.

3. What does the group rate for the hotel amount to?

A. Originally, I had secured a hotel and discounted rates for a group of 6 people (myself included). However, since there have been many inquiries but no commitments, I have had to let go of my reservation for fear of loosing money in case the workshop is not a go.

That said, I have personally stayed in a lovely hotel a stone’s throw from the Louvre (35 minutes from the painting studio) and I am guessing that I will most likely stay there again for this trip. If I am able to secure commitments from 3 other participants, I will inquire about a discounted group rate at that time. Normally, the rates for the hotel are $140 per night. That includes a delicious breakfast.

4. Is the supply list the one on your website?

A. Yes and no. It's similar to the supply list for my classes but not quite exactly the same. I will make the supply list available for you to download from my website a.s.a.p.

5. Can we bring unstretched canvas?

 A. Absolutely. In fact, I recommend it. I am bringing 4 pieces of primed canvas cut in 36” X 48” sections. I also plan on purchasing at least 2 stretched canvases at the painting studio and mailing them back to me in Canada. I have not looked into the cost of this. I think it will depend on the size and weight of the canvases. I don't plan on buying canvases bigger than 24" X 30" just to be safe.

6. Is the painting studio easy to get to from the recommended hotel?

A. As far as Google maps is concerned, the painting studio is approximately 35 mins by car from the hotel. My Paris contact tells me that it is about that same time by metro, although I haven’t the slightest clue how to do this. My contact assured me that she would help us figure this out.
