I took the Art Marketing class offered by Samantha because I was looking to expand my circle of purchasers to a broader spectrum than my immediate family and friends. I was a bit of an anomaly in her class as I already had a website and business cards, but that didn’t mean I didn’t learn anything from her – not by far! She was attentive to details such as what type of domain name to use for your art, how to present your art on your site, answered the question of whether or not to print on both sides of your business card, and gave good ideas on where to start when you’ve just started out. I was looking for a more definitive “do this and you shall be successful in selling your art” class, like a step-by-step program with simple actions to complete. But the class was more realistic in that Samantha emphasized we would get out of our art career what we put into it. I was unaware of the professional need to have an Artist’s Statement, Artist’s Bio, and Curriculum Vitae, and Sam had great ideas about how to approach each of those in turn. I did find what I needed – the motivation to apply myself more to my success on my own level, and to stop comparing myself to others (and thus limiting any success through complete inactivity!). I went out into that great-wide-world armed with my greatest asset (me) presented professionally and in a thoughtful manner. It’s worth the investment in your art career to attend and complete all the requisite work. Plus, you get to network and meet a bunch of other budding artists, and they just might end up being your cheering squad when you hit any stumbling blocks.

Your Art Marketing course was a confidence builder for me. It helped me to ‘get my art out there’ to a wider audience. ie: get my website up and start blogging and enter my work into art shows. Samantha, you have always been very generous sharing with fellow artists/students the information you have learned through your own experience and your sincerity is much loved and appreciated. You are a wonderful person and your classes are fun. You provide a very caring and non-threatening environment that is important especially when someone either has never painted or just returning to painting. I still have the first painting I created in the first class that both P. and I were in with you hanging in my house. I love it and I receive many compliments. Thanks for everything.

Thank you Sam for being the person you are. Being in your class has taught me how to be less structured and detailed. In other words, you have set me free to have fun with my paint and not to worry about the outcome. You have given instruction with the intent that I use it for my own style, not to replicate the work you did but to pour my own feelings into it and create my own masterpiece. I believe that" Art Is A Feeling" and now I can show it in my paintings. You are always there to lend a helpful suggestion and to guild us to a happy ending. I also want to thanks you for the help you have given me with my website and for your Art Marketing Class . I have learnt a lot and still have a lot more to learn.

I had my first solo art show last night held at a client's new home... Spectacular venue... Overwhelming turn-out... Sold 15 of 21 paintings. Unbelievable! It was a lot of work to get ready for it... January was a gong show in my house... But wow... Such a fun night! I had to smile. One of my girlfriends said: "I think your little art marketing course worked!" Thank you again, I'm so grateful to have you in my life! I have another show lining up for April. I'm over-the-moon!
