2016 – Love Is the Balm
2016 – Love Is the Balm
This series reflects the diverse landscapes that shaped it: the soft, ethereal greys and taupes of British Columbia, the vibrant pulse of Calgary, the vast skies of the Alberta prairies, the raw beauty of Hawaii, and the emerging spirit of Salt Lake City, Utah.
2016 was a year of travel and quiet transformation. Through it all, I arrived at a gentle realization — there is nowhere to get to. I had already arrived.
Each painting is built with locally foraged materials: earth, sand, crushed bone, organic pigments, and metallic powders. They invite the viewer to feel the unique essence of these places and the healing balm of simply being present.
