2015 – Spring Favorites
2015 – Spring Favorites
Created during the winter and spring of 2015 in Calgary, Alberta, this series reflects my response to a city in relentless growth — new skyscrapers, bridges, and homes rising with youthful urgency.
Fresh from Paris and its deep, layered history, I felt the stark contrast. I chose to create paintings that looked old — as if weathered over years by wind, rain, sun, and snow. Using paint and mixed media, I captured the quiet essence of time’s gentle erosion.
I love imagining these works hanging in sleek, ultra-modern interiors of stainless steel and concrete — a deliberate juxtaposition. Ultimately, they serve as quiet reminders that everything ages, and time’s steady embrace remains one of life’s few constants.
